ROW Check In 4 – Book Fair Anticipation!

Silk StockingsHave lost momentum a little bit this week, due to a rubbish cold-and-shivers bug. I’d planned to have my next short story drafted, but in fact it’s only half way done. And since I’m at the London Book Fair this week, I imagine that getting it finished by the end of the week will be enough of a challenge for me!

So, my 10 point plan for between now and Wednesday:

  1. Remember to print off my London Book Fair badge before tomorrow morning
  2. And to make a list of the stands I need to stop at most. The Fair is huge!
  3. Travel into London tomorrow morning and get to Earls Court without any disasters
  4. Meet the lovely Lucy Felthouse for a well needed cup of tea
  5. Meet my lovely editors and publisher at the Xcite stand
  6. See Silk Stockings in all its final, published, velvet flocked glory! (It’s launching this week. Did I mention? Oh, I did? That many times? Really?!)
  7. Explore stands and seminars and soak up the atmosphere of the Fair
  8. Write lovely post for you guys, all about it
  9. Possibly manage a few words on new short story in between all the fun
  10. Oh, and at some point I should check the proof of my short story for Xcite’s Foreign Affairs anthology, due out in June

You see? Far too much excitement going on for much writing to be happening. But, you know, the Fair’s an important networking opportunity/chance to nose around publishers stands/opportunity to potter and say ‘Ooooh’ at all the books. So I’m going to make the most of it.

  4. Wow, the book fair sounds absolutely awesome! If I lived in London (sadly, I am in California), I would so be there. 😀

It’s lovely to see an erotic romance author about these parts. I’m currently working my way through a fantasy novel and a steampunk one, but I have an erotic romance sitting on the backburner, just waiting till I have time to get to it.

    Have a wonderful week!

    • It’s not often that being in California is a downside…

Sounds like you’re having great fun skipping around the genres – one of the best parts of writing, as far as I’m concerned!
