I’ve got a busy few months planned. I want to write, edit and submit seven short stories and write the first draft of a new novella by the end of June. Plus marketing and promoting my upcoming releases. So, yeah, busy.
I need something to keep me on track. Something to keep me plugging away daily and weekly, not just in a rush when submission deadlines loom all of a sudden. I need to be accountable.
Which is why I’ve signed up for this round of Round of Words in 80 days, which describes itself as the writing challenge that knows you have a life. I’m hoping that checking in here, twice a week, and the support of the other participants, will help keep me on schedule, and avoid those last minute panics.
So, my goals?
- Write a short story a week, except for the week I’m at the London Book Fair, and the week I’m away on holiday.
- Revise and submit each story the following week, ahead of deadline.
- When my deadlines die down at the end of May, write the first draft of my novella, Roleplay. I’m aiming for 1,000 words a day from the beginning of June, so I finish bang on the 20th, when this round ends.
Easy, huh? Wish me luck…
Nice goals, but busy too! I’m impressed! Good luck with them! We’ll be cheering for you 😉
Thanks Juliana! Think I need all the cheering I can get…
Wishing you luck!
